Global Wind Energy Day in Egypt
Prof. Galal Osman Interview on ON TV: Renewable Energy Prospects in Egypt
EGWEA promotes and supports wind energy development in Egypt by facilitating the exchange of technical information, expertise and experience in the wind energy sector. It aims to further the wind energy interests of Egypt in particular and developing countries in general.
EGWEA aims to be an influential umbrella organization representing the wind energy sector in Egypt and thus assisting interaction and co-operation between all energy players. It will be a network through which support around the world will be obtained or given on wind energy matters. In this way it shall promote the development of and investment in wind energy in Egypt.
All of EGWEA’s activities are based on the following principles:
- The potential consequences of a continuation of increasing emissions of Carbon Dioxide and other greenhouse gases to the global climate are of such a serious nature that replacements for all polluting and hazardous waste creating energy technologies must be developed and adopted as soon as possible.
- Wind energy shall be the driving force for the immediate implementation of renewable energy in Egypt, in keeping with the global trend of recent years.
- Wind energy solutions that involve and benefit local communities shall be promoted. These may be grid-connected and/or stand-alone systems.
